Our Purpose
At Redding Reformed Fellowship, our purpose is to exalt and proclaim Jesus Christ through biblical preaching, teaching, and God-centered worship. That means, first and foremost, that everything we do is centered on the Bible, the Word of God. We have a strong commitment to the authority of the Scriptures in every aspect of our lives, and every part of our ministry here is built around our desire to instruct people in what God says to us through His Word. This is especially true of the preaching, teaching, and worship here at RRF.
Our Worship
We believe that God himself knows best how he should be worshipped, and therefore, our worship is based on God’s Word and not on our own imaginations. We seek to focus on God’s accomplishments in securing the salvation of his people and the glory of his name. We meet each week to worship God together and to hear from him as he speaks to us in his Word and seals that word and the promises of the gospel to us in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
Our worship style could best be described as “traditional.” We follow a historic Reformed liturgy or order of worship. See one of our recent bulletins for a specific example.
Our Preaching
Preaching is the primary way that God instructs us in his Word, which alone is the source of truth concerning the character of God, the nature of man, the way of salvation, and the hope of heaven. Declaring Scripture’s truth is our highest privilege as Christ’s ambassadors. We, therefore, believe that preaching should be the central part of any worship service and that it should explain and apply what God’s Word says. The preaching here is biblical and expositional and focuses on God and his works and will, not psychological theories, empty emotionalism, or the Pastor’s favorite stories. The only story that matters is the unfolding story of redemption in the gospel, which alone is able to save sinners and change lives.
Our Teaching
In addition to our Sunday morning worship service, we offer Sunday school classes for children and for adults each Sunday. We also have a mid-week evening Bible study, which covers a variety of topics, from practical Christian living to doctrinal studies and studies through the various historical confessional and catechism documents of the church.
Regardless of the topic, all of our studies are centered on instructing people in God’s matchless and sufficient Word.
Our People
We are a friendly group, with members ranging from newborns to “yesterday’s youth” and many young families with children. We are anxious to have others join us as we serve the Lord together in church and in our communities.
Our Programs
In addition to our Sunday worship services, we also currently offer:
For Children and Adults: We offer children’s and adult Sunday School classes each Sunday morning, immediately following our morning worship service and refreshment time.
We also offer a mid-week Bible study, held here at the church on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. The topic and schedule are subject to change; please check a recent bulletin for the most up-to-date details.
For Ladies: The ladies of the congregation meet for prayer, devotions, fellowship, and refreshments on the second Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm.
There is also a weekly neighborhood Bible study for the ladies, which meets at one of our members’ homes.
For the Entire Congregation: We meet for prayer on the third Sunday afternoon of each month. We are currently meeting via Zoom.
For the Men: On the fourth Sunday of each month, the men of our congregation meet for a time of food, fellowship, and study. This fellowship meets at different men’s homes.

Our Denomination
Redding Reformed Fellowship is a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, often referred to as the OPC.
You may be asking, “Who are they?”
The OPC is a theologically conservative denomination founded in 1936 in the United States. Despite the word “orthodox” in our name, we have no connection with the Eastern Orthodox Church. We trace our roots to the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation.
We are a historic, confessional church, and therefore hold a very high view of Scripture, believing it to be the very word of God to man and the highest and final authority on any question of faith and life.
We also hold to the historic confessions known as the Westminster Standards: The Confession of Faith and Shorter and Larger Catechisms. You can read them all here on our site. They are the best way to understand what we believe the scriptures teach on many subjects.
OPC churches are serious and enthusiastic about our faith and reverent and joyful in our worship. We are committed to missionary work and have missionaries in many parts of the world. We believe, as the Westminster Shorter Catechism says, that the chief end of man is “to glorify God and enjoy him forever.”
